Public Event BASS

The BASS Art and Science Symposium public event takes place in the rooms of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in the afternoon.

The symposium will be integrated into a musical program with performers from 8 nations. There will be an exhibition with installations of visual arts – Objects, paintings, photographs and film projections.

A time – space – stillness - place invites you to develop your own thoughts and ideas.

A key program point will also be the presentation of the Foundation Children in Pain, founded by the doctors Dr. med. Johanna Michel and Dr. med. Hermann Schmidt.
The goal of this globally active foundation is the education and treatment of physical and psychological pain in children. Pilot schemes will also be organised to boost public awareness of pain in children.

The first project of this foundation is the support of an orphanage for girls in Mayiladuthurai in Tamil Nadu southern India and a school in Afghanistan.

The conceptual integration of visual & audio works of art in the scientific program will be curated by Dr. med. Johanna Michel and Dr. med. Hermann Schmidt, who is internationally known as the artist Leo Philipp Schmidt.
